KNX vs Plejd
KNX and Plejd both appear in Swedish smart-lighting projects, but they suit different situations. The sensible choice depends on wiring, renovation scope, budget, and how broad the smart-home ambitions are.
When Plejd is practical
Plejd is common in Sweden because it fits many lighting projects without requiring a whole-home control system. For apartments and targeted upgrades, keeping Plejd can be the most pragmatic choice.
The question is how it should connect with the rest of the home, especially if you also want Apple Home, Home Assistant, scenes, sensors, or voice control.
When KNX is worth considering
KNX is worth discussing when the project includes renovation, many zones, shading, climate, or long-term control requirements. It is a bigger decision than choosing a lighting module.
A good plan may keep Plejd in some areas, use KNX where wired control matters, and expose the final controls through Home Assistant or Apple Home.
